Can you work on-site or only remotely?
The vast majority of missions are deliverable remotely via TeamViewer, RDP or Microsoft Teams. I travel on-site in the Nyon–Coppet–Geneva region for interventions that require physical presence (hardware deployments, in-person training, on-site audits). Travel costs outside this perimeter are billed additionally at CHF 1/km.
You are a French sole trader — how does invoicing work?
I invoice in CHF. As a French-based service provider supplying B2B services to Swiss clients, my services are exempt from French VAT (outside-EU reverse charge mechanism). You therefore pay no VAT on my invoices. For long-term or recurring contracts, I operate through a Swiss payroll company, which allows me to work without duration restrictions and with Swiss social coverage.
What is the difference between CHF 130/h and CHF 150/h?
CHF 130/h covers support, configuration, deployment, user training and general advisory. CHF 150/h applies to specific development work: complex Python scripts, API integrations, custom web applications, LLM automation, advanced VBA macros — tasks requiring deeper technical expertise and significant development/testing time. For mixed projects, the applicable rate is agreed in the quote.
Do you offer recurring maintenance contracts?
Yes, as monthly fractional CIO retainers (from CHF 500/month depending on volume). These include a defined monthly hour allowance, priority handling, IT strategic oversight and a quarterly review. Website maintenance contracts (updates, monitoring, backups) are also available. All retainers are deliverable 100% remotely.
You don’t resell hardware — how does equipment purchasing work?
I advise on the best equipment for your needs and budget with complete independence — I have no resale agreements and no margin on hardware. You order directly from the supplier of your choice (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, etc.) and I handle configuration, deployment and go-live. This is more transparent and usually cheaper than a provider who resells.
What are your typical response and intervention times?
For emergencies I aim to intervene remotely the same day (subject to availability). For planned work, the usual lead time is 2–5 business days from enquiry to start. Clients on monthly retainers have priority. Complex projects (websites, cloud migration, development) come with a schedule defined in the quote.
